Where to stay

Where to stay for Zion National Park

Stay in Springdale for the town shuttle and restaurants, at Zion Lodge for an in-canyon room, or east of the park for cabins and canyoneering. Hurricane and La Verkin trade lower rates for a longer drive.

Bases and entrances

Springdale for the South Entrance; East Zion for the high road.

Springdale lodging connects to the town shuttle, restaurants, rental shops, and the South Entrance. Zion Lodge is the only in-park hotel. Orderville and Mount Carmel Junction favor the east road, while Hurricane, La Verkin, and St. George add driving in exchange for broader services or lower rates.

Springdale

The easiest first-trip choice for the Springdale shuttle, gear rentals, restaurants, and paid parking outside the South Entrance.

Inside Zion

Zion Lodge is the only in-park hotel, with a shuttle stop near Emerald Pools and the Grotto.

East Zion

Smaller lodges and cabins near Orderville and Mount Carmel Junction, with east-side outings nearby and a longer drive to the Zion Canyon shuttle.

Hurricane / La Verkin

Often better value and more room, with a real drive to the park and easy access to wider Greater Zion stops.

St. George

A larger services-and-airport stay for visitors pairing Zion with Snow Canyon, golf, or a broader southwest Utah itinerary.

Bryce or Kanab pairing

Useful on a road trip, but too far away for an easy first Zion Canyon morning.

Property matchups

Springdale changes from the park boundary to its quieter east end.

Cable Mountain Lodge and Cliffrose sit beside the South Entrance area. Bumbleberry and Desert Pearl keep central Springdale restaurants within walking distance, while Driftwood and Flanigan’s trade a few central blocks for quieter grounds. Zion Lodge removes the entrance commute but leaves fewer evening dining choices inside the canyon.

Cable Mountain Lodge or Cliffrose

Both sit near Zion Canyon Village and the pedestrian entrance. Cable Mountain is the closest Springdale walk to the bridge; Cliffrose adds a full-service Virgin River resort setting.

Bumbleberry Inn or Desert Pearl

Bumbleberry sits among central Springdale shops and restaurants. Desert Pearl is also central but fronts the Virgin River and offers more space than a standard roadside room.

Driftwood Lodge or Flanigan’s

Driftwood occupies Springdale’s quieter east side with a town-shuttle stop. Flanigan’s is nearer the park end of town and adds spa and resort grounds.

Orderville and Mount Carmel Junction suit an east-road visit.

Orderville and Mount Carmel Junction suit an east-road visit.

A cabin near Orderville or Mount Carmel Junction puts checkerboard sandstone and east-side outings close at hand, but it does not replace Springdale for an early Zion Canyon shuttle. Use the east side when Zion–Mount Carmel Highway is part of the trip rather than a daily commute to the South Entrance.
